Today I located approximately 5,000 pages in Google search results belonging to personal injury law firms which have been defaced. The defacing is minor and easy to repair. If left un-repaired, attorneys face getting their sites de-indexed from Google search, which is going to be very bad for SEO.

The February 2017 hacks affected over 1 million pages in Google search. Affected sites have blog posts / articles which read “Hacked By MuhmadEmad” or have a similar message. The WordPress vulnerability affected WordPress versions 4.7 and 4.7.1.
To repair your site simply upgrade to 4.7.2 (or the latest current version) and revert your posts to the last previous state in the WordPress editor and you are done. The rest of the site is not compromised.
