It is shocking to me to discover the lack of translated content available on personal injury law firm’s websites.
If you want to see how important this is just look up real estate in LA.
If you’re a multilingual attorney you should definitely translate your content.
Personal Injury websites running a decent WordPress theme are fairly easy to convert using a plugin called WPML (WordPress Multi Lingual). Simply translate your content and have your webmaster configure the plugin and the content.
Recently, I ran into a personal injury attorney in a major city who spoke Russian. A few quick queries in Russian revealed that not a single attorney in his city had a page translated to Russian. We configured just a few pages of his site to Russian and all instantly ranked on the top of page 1 of Google search, and that is a very valuable place to be.
Problems with translated content
- URL Structure. An expert personal injury attorney SEO will know precisely how to set this up. There is more than one way but we officially recommend subfolders. Eg: personalinjuryseo.com/es/ for a Spanish site. Some people like to configure a subdomain. We do not practice this here but WPML does support it and it would look like: es.personalinjuryattorneyseo.com.
- Cosmetics. Simply translating the content is not enough; menus need to be translated. Plugins need translation. Not everything can be translated. It is OK if a few things display in English. Or, if you really want the ENTIRE site to be mutlilingual, it is absolutely possible.
- SEO Issues. An expert SEO team will properly configure the proper tags and attributes, such as: rel=”alternate” hreflang=”x”. Google has an excellent resource on this here. You may also find this video helpful if you wish to further your knowledge of this technical aspect of SEO.
